Getting started

Getting started with OhmCAD

Learn the basic workflow: sign in, create or open a project, draw, assign circuits, and export diagrams.

What you create in OhmCAD#

OhmCAD helps you build electrical project information in one connected place. You work from a project with a floor plan, electrical symbols, circuits, and data for outputs such as the situatieschema and eendraadschema.

The recommended order is:

  1. Sign in or create an account.
  2. Create a new project or open an existing project.
  3. Draw or load the floor plan.
  4. Place electrical symbols.
  5. Create circuits and assign components.
  6. Complete distribution board, differential, and title block information where needed.
  7. Review the information and export the diagrams.

Account and access#

You must be signed in to use the editor. From the public website you can log in, register, and then open the editor with Open OhmCAD.

During the pilot, available features can be used without a checkout flow for new users. Existing account and management pages remain available from the account menu.

First project#

A project groups the information that belongs to the same installation. Create a project first, then add a situation drawing or floor plan. Continue with walls, openings, symbols, and circuits.

Use clear project names. This makes projects easier to find and recognize later in exports or title blocks.

Open the editor#

After signing in, open the editor via Open OhmCAD. The editor is where you draw the plan, place objects, and complete electrical data.

See Editor overview for the main areas.

Diagrams and export#

When the project data is sufficiently complete, you can create outputs such as a situatieschema or eendraadschema. Always review the data before exporting.
