Electrical design software for Belgium

Create a single-line diagram with OhmCAD

Bring circuits, protection devices and electrical components together in one single-line diagram. OhmCAD uses your project data, so you can build the electrical structure alongside your installation plan.

This single-line diagram software is designed around Belgian installations. Whether you are an electrician preparing a file or a homeowner documenting a renovation, start with the actual installation data and review the result.

Create your free pilot account

Creating single-line diagrams and installation plans is currently free during the public pilot. No payment card needed; access is not promised to remain free permanently.

What is a single-line diagram and why use one?

A single-line diagram, or eendraadschema, is a simplified representation of an installation's electrical structure. It shows the distribution into circuits, their protection and connected loads without drawing every individual wire in space. It helps an installer or inspector understand the installation and supports future changes. Determine the documentation needed for your installation using the current AREI/RGIE rules and the specific project context.

Build your single-line diagram in OhmCAD

  1. Create a project and place components

Set up your project and place outlets, lamps and switches on the installation plan. Reuse those project components in the electrical structure instead of maintaining a separate list for each diagram.

  2. Set up cabinets, boards and circuits

Describe the distribution of the installation with the existing cabinet tools. Enter circuit descriptions, protection and cable data. Also review differential assignments and the actual phases selected: choosing a pole count does not automatically select phases.

  3. Link consumers and switches

Open the linking dialog, select the cabinet and circuit, and assign the placed components. For switched lighting, explicitly record which switches control which lamps. Sharing a circuit does not by itself define a switching relationship.

  4. Generate, review and export

Generate the single-line diagram from Installation Diagram. OhmCAD supports a table layout and a classic vertical style, with combined output or output per cabinet. Review every page, then include the result in your PDF document.

Linked circuits keep your diagrams connected

A lamp or outlet on the plan belongs to the same project data used by the single-line diagram. Supported electrical changes refresh a diagram that has already been generated. This reduces duplicate entry, while correct assignments and complete data remain your responsibility. After changes, check both the plan labels and the electrical output.

Practical example: lighting on one floor

Place a floor's lamps and switches on the plan. Assign them to the intended circuit and define the switched branches. In the classic vertical diagram, check that each switch appears before the correct lamps. Include the situation sheet and single-line diagram together in the PDF preview and compare their labels.

Review your diagrams against the actual installation

OhmCAD helps prepare electrical documentation, but does not perform an official inspection or an automatic AREI/RGIE compliance assessment. Compare the output with the real installation and have technical choices reviewed by a qualified professional where needed. A successful PDF export does not establish compliance.
