Arc walls

Create faceted curved wall sections from an existing selected wall.

What an arc wall is#

OhmCAD stores an arc wall as a chain of straight facets in the wall centerline. The result reads as a curved wall but remains compatible with wall hosting, openings and polygon rendering.

Create an arc wall#

  1. Select an existing wall.
  2. Start the Arc Wall tool.
  3. Click the first point on the wall centerline or available host segment.
  4. Click the second point on the same wall.
  5. Move the cursor to choose the curve amount.
  6. Click to confirm or press Escape to cancel.

The preview shows the effective start and end. OhmCAD keeps short straight lead-in and lead-out portions where possible, then builds the circular middle from straight facets.

Doors, windows and cutouts on arc walls#

Doors and windows can anchor on practical straight facets. Wall openings are cut from the wall polygon by unioning all active cutters and subtracting them from the source wall. This prevents overlapping openings from being order-dependent.

Editing an arc wall#

Because the arc is stored as centerline facets, later wall editing works on those stored points. A second arc operation can replace a range of existing facets.

Limitations#

  • Very small curves are rejected.
  • Facets must remain long enough to host ordinary openings.
  • Boundary-extruded custom wall bands use polygon replacement for the selected strip; if a proposed result is invalid, the preview disappears and the wall is not saved.
  • The tool does not store an analytic radius object. It stores the resulting faceted wall geometry.
