Getting started
Editor overview
Understand the main areas in the OhmCAD editor: ribbon, workspace, tools, project context, and dialogs.
Main areas#
The editor consists of a workspace with controls around it. The exact buttons you see depend on your project state and selected workflow.
Important areas are:
- The ribbon with project, drawing, and installation actions.
- The canvas where you place walls, objects, and symbols.
- Dialogs for settings, projects, title blocks, distribution boards, and exports.
- Status and help messages that show which action is active.
Project context#
Many actions need an open project. If no project is active, create or open one before drawing or saving objects.
Dialogs#
OhmCAD uses dialogs for focused tasks such as creating a project, creating a situation, editing board data, or exporting. Complete the required fields and confirm explicitly.
Help#
Ohmie can show short help or explanations in the editor. This help supports the workflow and does not replace checking your project data.
